Youth Dehonian Meeting in Laverna

Around 80 youngsters met in Laverna, Pringsewu Lampung for the Indonesian Youth Dehonian Community (YDC) meeting. This is the second meeting in Pringsewu. The last meeting was in June 2006. Fr. Wahyu SCJ, the coordinator of the meeting stressed that the goals of the meeting is to found and to reflect the characteristics of the youth dehonian community. He said that as the youth dehonian we have to follow the life’s struggles of fr. Leo Dehon. In that occasion fr. Haryoto, SCJ. Stressed three dehonian values; love, readiness, sacrifice as the dehonian characteristics. After telling the chronologies of YDC, fr. Kristianto, SCJ said that the YDC must sport the parish activities. The YDC may not be concurrent of and far from Christian parishes’ youth. But YDC must become the agents and the supporters of Christian parish youths, by bringing the dehonian spiritualities. This meeting was attended by the representation from scj’s parishes from diocese of Palembang, Tanjungkarang and Jakarta.
The Community of the Indonesian Youth Dehonian formed in Palembang, in 25 Mart 2006. At that time gathered more than five hundred young peoples from all the scj’s parishes, from Palembang, Lampung and Jakarta.
